About Vie Chimère

Promoting and supporting the uniquely talented award-winning indie pop music artist, artivist, poet, writer/vlogger and budding style icon Vie Chimère. Her eclectic, melodic and catchy homegrown pop music spans retro (particularly 80s\/90s) synthpop, anti-folk, EDM, rock, folk, a little R&B\/blues, and hints of musical theatre, country and worldbeat. Vie's original debut release Dreamer Queen: Not Under the Machine was the 2024 recipient of the rampage music awards' Best Pop Album - by vote!

Rosie Vie, who is of French/Indigenous(Mohawk)/German/Scottish/Ukranian heritage and identifies as femme-androgen (she/her/vi/vir) is proudly neurodivergent (diagnosed Autism One  - formerly known as Asperger Syndrome) and she is unashamed to be living with as well as valiantly battling and managing invisible disabilities on the daily, due to being a 'zebra' (a medical nickname term for a rare disease patient.) These are due to rare endocrine issues such as a rare form of diabetes called MODY4 as well as congenital adrenal hyperplasia (a rare condition which causes adrenal imbalance among other things, and is technically considered a very mild form of intersex) and a rare genetic connective tissue disorder called Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (which causes ones' bodies' collagen - your bodies' 'glue' to be weakened.) Rosie Vie lives with various complications of EDS such as POTS dysautonomia (a circulatory condition Vie gets medications and weekly fluids through a port to manage), early onset osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia, mild cervical spine instabilty (managed with nightly collars, exercises and gentle massage), an immunolgocial disorder called mast cell activation syndrome (managed with antihistamines and diet) a propensity to pyogenic infection especially streptoccocal (bronchitis, sinusitis, pneumonia and, if not cared for or iif diabetes is not tightly managed, fingers, toes and limbs), very soft and sensitive skin that must be cared for cautiously, as well as compromised dental enamel (which Vie has managed to turn into art as well.)

Rosie Vie is open, unapologetically authentic and strikingly beautiful inside and out. She believes education, awareness and being real are important, though she also enjoys presenting herself well, even flamboyantly. She enjoys expressing herself through her music, poetry, vlogs and posts, and through her creative, thrifted fashions and make-up art; She impishly prides herself on managing to be complimented on her attire wherever she goes even if it's just for a walk - with one of her big, carved wooden sticks - down the block for simple coffee, all the while on a very tight budget. Rosie Vie is an advocate for thrifting and freeclycling, believing it's better for the environment, pocketbook savings and humility too. Standing at just 5'1' and despising high heels (for good reason in her case) she's also an advocate for accepting one's natural height over enduring pain and discomfort - and refuses to wear heels - joking that if she ever does happen to get married again she will be doing so in off-white combat boots with gold laces. Rather than buying additional make up tools, Rosie Vie opts to blend her own make up products together in various empty containers, in order to create new colours and looks; the dollar store or thrift stores being great resources for this, too. Rosie Vie has recently experimented with making her own hair products, and prides herself on the ability to cut her own signature 'femme mullet' (in which share states will be present throughout her life) as well as modify her own jewelry using thing leather rope and other odd and ends. You may even notice that Rosie Vie is not afraid to bare her flaws (or in her case genetic curses) to the extent that when she smiles, or sings, you will notice flashes of visible gold - something which was not as easy on the pocketbook as other things she does - but best for the sensitive Ehlers-Danlos gums and did cost her a modeling career she states she cares little about (if they won't let her be herself.)

Rosie Vie credits her autistic mind, as well as sensitivity and hyper-creativity, for her gifts when it comes to song lyrics, poetry, and applying rhythm and melody. She has been making up melodies and harmonies since childhood, though only seriously so since aged 15.

Vie is a true survivor who has been through immense hardship, abuse and discrimination (childhood, school and systemic) and (TW) unfortunately due to late autism diagnosis as an attractive, naive young girl lacking safety skills - sexual assault. She has worked very hard to both self-advocate in order to assert her rights and need for access to certain mandatory services and (most particuarly) rare disease specific medical care, and she has also done a lot of work in order to heal and grow herself in character and in spirit. She uses music, writing, creative expression and advocacy, particularly in the form of education, awareness and encouraging others' to self-advocate. All the aforemention is Rosie Vie's 'driving force' ship in order to transform complex trauma, chronic pain and damage into purpose. While social activism is close to her heart, she believes in compassionate assertion, positivity and looking to common unity over anger, resentment and community division.

Overall, however, Rosie Vie identifies as an artivist. However, she is also a family gal and a homebody being passionate about home cooking and a protective 'mama bear' whom has raised two strong-minded, bright, and caring sons who are both talented in their own individual ways; social butterfly Elliot is musical like his mother and enjoys making impressively catchy hip hop/pop music as a hobby (and maybe more one day) as well as preparing for trades school, and Pearson, who is moderately autistic and incredibly smart, is inquisitory and currently learning about history and the social sciences.

Through her vlogs and community work Rosie Vie has inspired many to self-advocate, support each other, believe in themselves, and perhaps pursue their own artistic talents and interests. Her powerfully moving and catchy new demo beat, Windchill, speaks from the heart of a survivor. Vie is very keen to produce Windchill (and the other three newest demos) to perfection, once technological requirements to do so are achieved. She is certainly open to serious collaboration and production opportunities, and greatly benefits from public support to keep creating and sharing her catchy, melodic and lyrically moving music - sung with her distinct girlish-tomboy alto-rasp voice. Her message is one of passion and assertion but nonviolence, hope, bravery, love and kindness.

Helping Rosie Vie, as she gives back

Pledge-Donation Based Fundraising For A Crucial Cause

Rosie Vie is building a sustainable path as an independent artivist currently struggling with a profoundly tough situation of sudden housing displacement due to a painful, complex and unfortunate series of events involving lack of accessibility, a bus strike, partial breakdown of her owned trailer living situation up island (in spite of good efforts), a cruel fall-through motorhome 'deal' in Victoria due to the original owner suddenly breaking her promise, stiffing her, and giving the home over to a man not in the same position of need (but who had a little more cash to offer than Vie could save up, even though Vie had already followed through with the move back from Cowichan, with the fur babies in tow, temporarily bunking in with her ex and sons - in a cramped manner - while helping the woman clean out the house/pack as per request, whilst expecting to essentially move in soon) As one can imagine what this woman pulled left Vie, and her ex and sons in a terrible and awkward position; She could not stay there with the fur babies, (and so unfortunately and painfully, most of them were lost to the SPCA... and while there was a plan to privately home them to various loving parents, this was not the way it was meant to go and therefore it was a heartbreaking and traumatic situation, caused by the womans' deception.) Then lastly, a parent of Vie's whom ended up having to, in the event the the aforementioned unexpected emergency, host her living for a while. Unfortunately he was unable to appreciate Vie, or understand the reality that she does indeed live with a significantly challenging chronic illness, even if she may be able to 'mask' this to the outside world. Strong ableism tendencies were expressed, as there was an inability to understand Vie's challenges, nor her love for the few remaining animals she had managed to rescue (her cat and few little ones.) Without sounding too unproffessional, we shall just say that a lot of very verbally hurtful behavior occured directed Vie's health related disabilities (which are matters she cannot help - and are more evident in a private, personal home setting where Vie is not dressed up and 'being a warrior' out there in spite.) Vie was ultimately thrown out abruptly and harshly, though she'd tried her utmost to cope like a trooper with the difficult situation of boarding on her fathers' couch, keeping things as neat as possible and going out of her way to decorate immaculately during Christmas and New Years'. Unfortunately it was never good enough (and there are often negative experiences with all family members to boot.) Though it's not something we'll get into too into here, Rosie Vie is beginning to blog and discuss some of her experiences with being family scapegoat-ism - which is something that happens to many people. A family scapegoat is the one individual in a dysfunctional, often narcissistic family system who indeed has empathy and an 'intact moral compass.' Therefore they are the 'odd one out' questioning their family's unhealthy behaviors.

This makes them a target for bullying, blaming and gaslighting, within the family. Vie has been a lifelong survivor of this and she's far from the only one. Many experience this, and Vie hopes not only to discuss the matter openly in order to healthily reflect and help others, but to heal and move on by cutting contact and focussing on her own family (her two 18 and 19 year old sons whom she adores and is close with) and her circle of 'chosen family' friends and community of other neurodivergent, disabled and rare disease folks. This is the healthiest step that can be taken at this point and time. For the moment, however, housing is a very urgent matter; Having completed her 'Dreamer Queen Not Under the Machine 2026 Edition' album amid all of the aforementioned, while unhoused, was a mountain of a feat.

Vie's greatest hope is to record her studio-quality second album, which she is currently in the process of writing/composing (Homegrown Chimaera) when housing is established. Vie has reflected in more detail on the gradual events which have lead to this housing crisis, in order to examine and understand what has happened, via blogging/vlogging in soon to be released video journals. Vie also shares various experiences and perspectives, and is interested in making some more artistic, fun videos (grwm, ootd, thrifted fashions etc) as well as poetry reading vidoes.

It has been hard for Vie to be housing displaced, as a senstive (though strong) autistic individual and most imperatively while fighting a mostly-invisible yet profound systemic, chronic rare health condition (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome with comorbid POTS dysautonomia, mast cell disease, AAI - a disc disease of the upper neck - MODY4 diabetes with pancreatic insufficiency.) She must manage a bubble pack of twelve medications daily, as well as a collection of essential supplements and a particular diet (which at the moment has had to go a little astray due to circumstance; this has been impacftul.)

Even while battling these things while having to stay in a rough & tumble 'wet shelter' (as it is referred to) which means where use is allowed, for those who do though Vie does not herself partake in this whatsoever. Vie does not judge the many before her who openly use (often due to the profoundly painful things which have happened in their lives --and Vie certainly does not use herself, whatosever, while she can understand their pain and struggles.) She attemps to be friendly and courteous, and offer hope and kindness (as she did on Christmas day whilst handing out homemade cakes to those stuck on the street - ironically she'd be finding herself in a similar position weeks later.) However, not everyone at this place is 'nice', and Vie has already endured a certain amount of being lashed out on or at the very least frequently witnessing shouting, screaming cursing and the like. Getting quality sleep can be difficult in this place, as well, due to this. Not to mention, kleptomania (stealing) is rampant, and personal possessions much be constantly watched or locked up - or else. This is an incredibly stressful environment to live in, as you may imagine (especially for a sensitive autistic person.) It's also important to note that Vie's immune system is a little compromised, and sicknesses (colds, coughs and even pneumonia, is often occuring amongst guests at the shelter.) To note, the food offered is often not friendly for Vie's health condition (contains much gluten and dairy.) Vie has, out of hunger, consumed these items anyway and suffered. However, the staff is for the most part pretty great, and Vie is fond of them.

The best that can be hoped for at this time is for Vie to continue to focus on her music and course work using her new PC computer (which does not have a battery problem and can be portable, used in her private bed/curtained area) and phone, with her headphones, or if she has the energy she can go to coffee shops. Clearly this is far from an ideal situation for a woman with these needs and challenges and she is simply trying to warrior through (there is a 'sustainability while at the shelter' section on Vie's Throne account which asks for things like power banks, mini rechargable refridgerator so she can keep more of her own food, air fryer which is a need in the future too, etc..)

The ultimate hope is for Vie to re-establish herself with reasonable home, her sweet furbabies (she has a medical letter and is hoping this will help) through her art and freelancing, fierce individialistic thrifted & freecycled style which she is not only unashamed of but proud of (she believes it is better for the environment and humanity to thrift, swap and freecycle) her nutrition consulting course so she can begin a nutrition/culinary mobile consultant business part time - helping others troubleshoot food and lifestyle improvements, all of which she genuinely loves and finds healing.

A home base is key for these things to flourish, and support to help her get there is appreciated. While subsidized housing will likely be a first step, Vie's ultimate dream is to own a tiny home or cabin/cottage (while she's added one of these to her Throne wishlist, she realizes this is a long shot and expects to likely get there herself through hard work and focus, a feat with challenges like the ones described, but this is a determined woman.)

Rosie Vie also deeply misses her fur babies (her cat Esme, and blonde-siamese-dumbo fancy rats Alice, Bella, Archie and Snickers) immensely, and longs to be reunited with them.

Feel free to reach out to via the official email should you wish to send well wishes or resource ideas/thoughts, though please keep in mind there may be a slight delay in Vie getting back herself as she is frequently dealing with overload at this time, or she may not feel well due to the culmination of stress, exhaustion and her rare disease.

Every contribution fuels the message, the music, the mission, the motivation, the road to safety and a re-established home base.

Below is a photo of Rosie Vie staunch and determined (with limited technology due to the nearly-at-capacity state of her beloved but very old computer) her cherished headphones that she most often wears, and a cheap, basic vocal recording mic, determined to make Windchill into a song in a sleeping bag on her friends' studio apartment floor.
